The Healing Powers of Play

Play is a child’s natural language. Through play, children express emotions, process experiences, and make sense of their world—often in ways they cannot yet put into words. In play therapy, this natural form of communication becomes a powerful pathway for healing, growth, and connection.

As a Registered Play Therapist (RPT), I have completed extensive, specialized training beyond graduate-level education to provide ethical and effective play therapy services. This advanced training focuses on child development, trauma-informed care, attachment, and evidence-based play therapy approaches that support emotional regulation, resilience, and healthy relationships.

In the therapy space, play allows children to explore feelings safely, practice new skills, and experience a sense of mastery and control. Whether a child is working through anxiety, trauma, behavioral challenges, or big emotions, play therapy meets them where they are. Play therapy honors the child’s pace, strengths, and unique way of communicating.

At Owlwise Therapy Studios, play is not “just play.” It is meaningful, intentional work that helps children feel understood, supported, and empowered as they grow.
